Beat Unhealthy Cravings

Being healthy involves eating healthy; of course... we all know this. However, executing your path to health plan does not come without bumps in the road. We all have cravings for something oh-so-bad for us, but when we do, there really is no need to panic as long as we try to keep the following "craving limiting strategies" in mind.

Eat just a little Of your favorite foods! Every day! Yes, you read that right. By actually giving in to the foods you enjoy most every single day you will find it much easier to portion and limit the amount you eat. Now you do not have to feel deprived and you will be much less likely to break down and finish off an extra large pie on your own.

Get Rid of Temptation If you don't have it, you can't eat it! So if you do not trust yourself portioning, just avoid having tasty treats in the house. If you have a craving, but in order to get what you crave you need to get in your car and drive to the nearest grocery store, then you will probably think twice before eating it.

Forgive Yourself for Slip-ups Alright, so you did finish off that bag of chips. Don't punish yourself, it will just make you crave the "wrong" foods more, instead figure out how to avoid eating excessively in the future.

Brush-up That fresh feeling your teeth have after just brushing generally doesn't make you feel like eating something sweet right? When a craving comes up, brush your teeth first. It is simple, but very effective!

Take a walk Walking, or any type of exercise, gets rid of a sweet tooth (ok, just temporarily, but that's fine). Take the dog out for a quick run around the block or just go by yourself on a five minute power walk. You'll be more energized, more relaxed and your cravings will be gone.

Wear "Skinny Clothes" Don't let those "skinny jeans" you have (whichever size that is for you personally) sit in the closet! If they are a bit tight but still come on, wear them! A forgiving elastic band on your track pants will not let you know why you should not be eating the second portion of chocolate cake.
