The HPV Vaccine Does Not Cause “Mental Retardation”

The American Academy of Pediatrics has released a statement that emphasizes that there is no scientific validity to the statement made by presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann in regards to the HPV vaccine. It does not, as the politician believes, cause “mental retardation”. Instead, it protects girls from cervical cancer. During a Republican presidential debate, Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann argued with Texas Governor Rick Perry about his executive order that mandated that all female students be vaccinated with the HPV vaccine. HPV Vaccine Legislation in the United States

The HPV vaccine for young women has been a subject of debate and legislation around the United States over the last few years. While BP is still working on finding a good way to clean up the Gulf of Mexico spill, wildlife is suffering as it affects its habitat or food supply.
