I'm Breaking Up with My Razorby Aimee Amodio | More from this Blogger 01 Jun 2009 04:09 PM Dear Razor: It's not you, it's me. My needs are changing as I get older, and you're just not right for me anymore. Love, Aimee. That's right, I'm back on the market -- for a new hair removal technique. I've been a razor girl for a long time. My first razor was electric, but I never really felt like I got a close enough shave. When I switched to a disposable (single blade), the difference was amazing and wonderful. Then came the double blades... the triple blades... the quads and quints. I guess my skin is getting more sensitive as I get older, because even a brand new razor leaves me with painful razor burn these days. By the time my legs recover, it's just about time to shave again. No thanks! I'm going to try out some other options and see how they work. What's on my list of razor-free hair removal techniques:
First up, I'll try the do-it-yourself options: depilatory creams and waxing. I'll let you know if we hit it off and I start a new relationship. I'm a man so I only have to shave my face, sometimes I get an old school shave at the barbers as a treat. Aimee Amodio (11995) 01 Jun 2009 06:27 PMIt seems like waxing is mainly dangerous for diabetics who suffer from neuropathy (loss of sensation) -- they can't feel whether or not the wax is too hot. Might be best for diabetics to check with the doc before attempting a wax, just to be safe! Samual (11722) 02 Jun 2009 01:48 AMIts because the skin is always torn when waxing, you just cannot see it. Here salons are not allowed to give waxing treatments to those with diabetes. Community Tags hair removal, razor, shaving, skin care Discuss this article
