The options available to me where mechanical (puntcal plugs), pharmacological - Restasis and biological (optimizing my nutrition). My Opthomologist suggested increasing my daily essetial fatty acid intake. I added Flax Seed oil and increased my Omega 3 intake in the form of a fish oil supplements. I take 1000mg three times per day. My eyes have gotten much better. I encourage you to try increasing your Omega 3 intake to alleviate dry eye sypmtoms. Just check to make sure any product includes EPA and DHA, plus vitamin E, which helps the omega-3’s do their work. Keep in mind that you need the right balance of omega-3’s, 6’s and 9’s â€" not more of everything. Be sure your omega-3 supplements are free of lead, mercury, PCB’s and other contaminants.
