Zap Zits With Zeno!

Are you ready for this? The FDA has approved a zit-zapper! It's called Zeno.

Zeno is a handheld device that uses low-level heat to zap your zits into history! Most blemishes are caused by a bacterium called P. acnes. The heat from the Zeno causes that bacteria on your skin and in your pores to self-destruct -- this is known as heat shock response. When the bacteria die, the pimple goes away! If you have mild to moderate acne problems, Zeno may be right for you.

The Pros

• The low-level heat kills the bacteria that clogs pores and causes pimples
• Zeno-treated blemishes fade within twenty-four hours -- perfect for that "right before my wedding day" or "prom night" breakout
• Side effects are mild (soreness, redness, dry skin) and fade quickly
• Works quickly -- most pimples go away with just one treatment

The Cons

• The cost -- more than two hundred dollars
• You shouldn't use Zeno more than three times in a twenty-four hour period, so it's not good for massive breakouts
• Zeno doesn't help blackheads or whiteheads
• Zeno doesn't keep pimples from coming back

Choosing to use Zeno for your breakouts doesn't mean you should abandon your daily cleaning routine. For moderate acne problems, you should use a daily cleanser with salicylic acid to keep your skin free of oils. If you have persistent and/or severe acne, you should consult your doctor or dermatologist.

Zeno should not be used on ingrown hairs, insect or spider bites, skin infections, or if you have skin that is sensitive to heat, sunlight, or chemicals.
